Kaelen was born as Arannis Stormbringer, and raised by his parents Dorian and Aria in Feldrun. He studied all things arcane, specializing in divination, within the walls of the Gwae-Anrelné Academy and Archive of Feldrun which was owned and headmastered by his parents.
He uncovered a mysterious ritual that his father seemed to be taking place in, that dealt with the necromantic magic he had been admonished to avoid by the same man that was now effectuating it. Falling in to part of the spell, he was teleported to a stone ruin and accosted by a being that was above 7 feet tall who spoke into Kaelen's mind "Who are you? Who are you? Who are you? Bring me Syrodh. Bring me Syrodh."
Kaelen awoke panicked and confused and disillusioned by his father. He grabbed the bare belongings he thought he needed to survive, along with his spellbook and his father's staff, and fled.
