Tiriel is a world set in the Sea of Un. It is inhabited by diverse flora and fauna, including Elves, Dwarves, and Men.

Early History

Prior to the First Age Tiriel, then known as Tirandyr, was a realm intermixed with many aberrant powers. In cases where there was a veil of separation it was thin, and many elemental beings and strange creatures were allowed passage upon the face of Tirandyr. It is widely believed that this was a time when the High Gods had yet to withdraw there power from the planes of material and mortality, and the world was still rife with creation.

At the end of the Age of the Golden Road, a great war of dragons took place, and it is supposed that at its close the planes became separate, thus Tirandyr was renamed Tiriel by the Vilir. The new title was very popular and widely adopted as it was understood the world had changed and deserved a new name. As for the Feywild and the Shadowfell, their influence was slowly recognized, and their state and placement was recorded over the initial decades of the First Age.

Continents

There are three major continents upon Tiriel; Gylaerdh, Enhetyar, and Myndwen, the former two now known as Andrithiel and Saeriliath, respectively.
